In the 1920's the mill was powered by a diesel engine and finally converted to electrical power. In the center of the mill sits the oldest part, the flour mill which has been operating since the Mill began. In the early 1940's a feed mill was added.
In 1979 Sammie Phillips purchased the Mill. Sammie revitalized the mill using his extensive knowledge and 70 years of experience. Today, the Mill is operated by Sammie's son, Eugene along with other family members. Wheat flour, corn meal and grits are still ground here with the same pride and skill as from decades past.
